Zara is an incredibly resilient, adaptable and smart dog.
She was a former farm dog, but was due to be shot because she didnt cut it as a working dog. She was apparently very timid, but all we have seen in foster care is that she LOVES people and other dogs and is up for anything. You can see that she is very eager to do whatever she can to please her owner.
She has transitioned seamlessly into foster care - it will be a breeze for her adoptive family. For example, she slept throughout the night without a peep or a single whimper on her first and subsequent nights in care.
She was shown how to use the dog door, rewarded for using it to get in and out, and had mastered it within the hour. She takes herself out to toilet. So smart!
She has good recall even when there is something interesting happening (like a motorbike driving past). She will thrive with having the opportunity to be given training by her new owner - you can see that she is keen as mustard to please.
She is still a puppy though and wants to do puppy snuggling and puppy style play too (with a human). She has passing interest in a tennis ball and toys, she is more keen to play with the person.
Other great qualities - rarely barks, great with kids, she is not reactive to other dogs (even those that are barking at her in the neighbouring yard), good in the car, willing to accept directions (eg: sleeping in laundry area, off furniture, 'wait' command etc).
