Hi chihuahua lovers, I’m Truffles aka Truffy!
At 2.5kg I’m pretty tiny but what I lack in size I make up for in personality! I’m still only a baby who hasn’t had much exposure to things, so the big wide world is pretty scary, with strange people and other dogs. I was terrified when I came into care but 24 hrs and lots of chicken later, my true cheeky chihuahua personality started to come through.
My fur foster siblings really helped me settle, so ideally another small playful dog would be good to keep me company and show me the ropes. Once I’m settled and comfortable in my new home, I’ll become really playful and fun. I love toys and playing chase with my fur foster siblings but I also love playing with my foster humans too! I’m always up for a snuggle on the lounge or in bed (which is where I’ll want to sleep) when I’ve had enough play time. I’m a really good eater, I love all food!
I haven’t met a cat whilst in care but with a slow introduction I’d be fine. I haven’t been around young children either so would be better with older kids or teenagers. I’m working on my toilet training so my new family will need to be understanding and patient and continue to guide me. I’m good in the car and I’m getting better at walking on a lead. I’ll need extra secure fencing with no gaps at the bottom, although once I’m settled I won’t try to escape.
The Chihuahua breed can be quite dominant and possessive (we can’t help it being so tiny!) so I’ll need to be kept well socialised with humans and dogs to keep me in line. Love is all I need. Can you give it to me?
