Meet Splash, a beautiful, gentle girl with the sweetest nature and those classic Border Collie looks. She is quiet, affectionate, incredibly smart and much more interested in being part of the family than clocking on for a day of farm work.
Splash originally came from a farm where she was meant to be a working dog, but she had other ideas. She showed very little interest in working livestock and decided the people were much more exciting instead. She is comfortable around farm animals, so she could happily live on a property again, just without being expected to earn her keep!
Splash is a petite sized Border Collie so perfect for cuddles! She is fantastic with other dogs and is friendly with dogs of different sizes and genders. She is perfectly comfortable spending time on her own and can be left alone without any issues, but she would also enjoy having a doggy companion to share life with.
Splash currently lives with a foster kitty sister and has been gentle and curious with her. She likes to know what the cat is up to and is learning to respect her space when she has had enough of Splash's investigations.
She is toilet trained, sleeps through the night and settles beautifully in the home. Although we should probably mention that Splash has decided human beds are significantly better than dog beds, and she will happily make herself comfortable if given the opportunity.
Walks are one of her favourite things and she is lovely and easy on the lead. She absolutely loves being outdoors in nature, taking her time to explore and sniff everything along the way. Despite the name Splash, she hasn't shown us much interest in water so far.
Apparently she prefers exploring on dry land! She is just as happy coming home afterwards and settling in for a quiet afternoon.
She is still figuring out this whole "being a pet" thing and has recently discovered that dog toys are actually pretty fun.
Splash is intelligent, food motivated and eager to learn. She already knows her basic commands and picks up new things quickly, so she would love a family who will continue giving that clever Border Collie brain things to do.
She really is a beautiful all-rounder. Splash could fit wonderfully into family life, whether that's in the suburbs with plenty of walks and adventures, or back on a property where she can enjoy all the space and farm life without anyone expecting her to actually herd anything.
