Solo is a quiet, dignified little gentleman who loves to cuddle. He will sit next to you or in your arms for hours so he’ll be a special treat for anyone who loves to cuddle their dog.
Solo was extremely timid when he arrived and would hide behind my legs if he saw anyone new. He has progressed since he’s been here but would still prefer to keep his distance from other people until he got to know them.
Solo loves to go for a walk and looks forward to our morning and afternoon sessions outside. I think that going for a walk was a new experience for Solo and he had some difficulty working out what to do. He walks quite slowly and doesn’t pull on the lead and he is now much more excited about the sights and smells of the great outdoors. He does need some lead training.
We’re not totally sure about the background solo came from or what happened during his life there. Solo arrived very underweight and as a result can be protective of his food with both other dogs and humans so needs a child free home. Solo can also become upset if another dog shares your attention while he is being petted. For these two reasons, I feel that Solo would be better as an only dog who has play dates with other dogs because he does love to play.
I feel that solo would be best in a house with a backyard and a doggie door so that he can go outside whenever he needs.
I have enjoyed having solo in my home. He is a gorgeous little dog who has had a difficult time but remains gentle and good tempered. He is shy with others but warms after a time.
Solo has experienced some hair loss due to poor nutrition and flea allergy dermatitis. His coat is gradually growing back, although he still has a few areas where hair has not yet fully returned.
He is thriving on a high-quality diet consisting of Black Hawk food, supplemented with sardines a couple of times each week. To support his ongoing skin and coat recovery, he should continue to be bathed with Malaseb until his hair has completely regrown.
