Solo is one of the most beautiful dogs you could ever hope to meet. Beneath his gentle eyes is a deeply sensitive soul who has so much love to give and asks for very little in return. He forms incredibly strong bonds with his people and thrives on companionship, affection and connection.
While much of Solo's past remains a mystery, it is clear that life has not always been kind to him. The circumstances that led him to Lucky Paws have left him with anxiety and a fear of being left behind. Despite this, Solo continues to greet each day with a loving heart and a willingness to trust those who show him kindness.
Since coming into care, Solo has received the fresh start he deserved. He has had extensive veterinary care, including dental treatment, flea and skin infection management, and has transformed from being underweight and neglected to a happy, healthy boy. He has also been learning all about house manners, toilet training, harness walking and enjoying the simple pleasures of a good sniff around the neighbourhood.
Solo's ideal home is one where someone is around most of the time, particularly during the transition period. Being left alone is currently very difficult for him, and he will need patient adopters who can continue building his confidence through a structured, supportive approach. With commitment, understanding and potentially ongoing behavioural support, we believe Solo can make significant progress and learn that he is safe and loved.
He is very close to being fully toilet trained and happily uses the yard when given access. He enjoys quiet walks, exploring new smells and spending time outdoors, but his greatest joy is simply being close to his person. Whether it's following you around the house, curling up beside you on the couch or quietly keeping you company, Solo's happiest moments are spent with those he loves.
We believe Solo would thrive in a calm, peaceful home without children or other dogs. Busy environments can be overwhelming for him, and he can be protective around food, so a quiet home where he can relax and feel secure is essential. One of the many wonderful things about Solo is that he is an incredibly quiet dog who rarely barks and is content simply being in your company.
For the right person, Solo will be a once-in-a-lifetime companion. His loyalty is unwavering, his affection is endless, and the bond he forms is truly something special. He is looking for someone who understands that healing takes time and that the greatest rewards often come from offering patience, love and compassion.

HEALTH WAIVER:
Solo has experienced some hair loss due to poor nutrition and flea allergy dermatitis. His coat is gradually growing back, although he still has a few areas where hair has not yet fully returned.
He is thriving on a high-quality diet consisting of Black Hawk food, supplemented with sardines a couple of times each week. To support his ongoing skin and coat recovery, he should continue to be bathed with Malaseb until his hair has completely regrown.
