Meet Smoky!
Smoky is a sweet, smart boy who’s finally getting the fresh start he deserves. After spending much of his first two years chained, he’s now making up for lost time—with curiosity, heart, and a whole lot of tail wags.
He loves his walks, being close to his people, and soaking up pats. Once he feels safe, he’ll roll over and offer you his belly—his way of saying, I trust you. He’s playful, affectionate, and learning fast, but he does need a little time to settle and decompress, particularly around men.
Smoky loves playing with his furry foster sibling George, but it did take a few days for them to warm up and figure out each other’s social cues. Now they’re best buddies—chasing each other around the yard, sharing toys, and curling up together after a big day. Smoky would thrive with another doggie friend to show him the ropes, play a good game of chasey, and be his cuddle companion.
He’s also a water-loving, zoomie-prone adventurer who would make a fantastic running buddy. Smoky would do best in a home with a big backyard where he can stretch his legs, explore, and enjoy the freedom he’s only just discovered.
Smoky’s already picking up commands like “sit” and “on your bed,” and he’s walking well on lead. He’s a bit of a head-turner too—handsome and often complimented by strangers.
What Smoky needs most is patience, kindness, and someone who sees the loyal, loving companion he’s ready to become. If you’re looking for a dog who’ll give you his whole heart—Smoky’s your guy.
