Hello!! My name is Rufus and I’m ready to find my forever home!
My foster mum says I’m an absolute sweetheart. From day one I came in smiling and full of beans!
When I get a treat I spin round and round and dance and sometimes I’m so happy my tail makes my whole body shake!
I live with my foster parents and 4 other small dogs, one cat and 2 birds! When I first came there was even a 5th dog here to play with!
I adjusted straight away and was particularly happy having a little poodle friend who loves to play with me. I have never shown any reaction to the cat- she’s fine but I don’t really have any interest in her. The birds I like standing on my hind legs and looking at them but I don’t bother them at all! I’m just curious when they ring their bells and toys.
I am dog friendly so I’d be happy to live with another dog for company and to do zoomies around the yard! Cause I’m only little and delicate though I like to have small dog friends. Big dogs are scary when you are so small!
If you don’t have a dog friend for me I think I would most love to be with people who are retired or work mainly from home as I do like to have company and I get upset if I’m left alone.
It didn’t take me long to become part of the family and love sitting on the couch with my family and sleeping inside and safe- this would need to continue in my new home. I’m not suited to be separated from my family- I have too much love to give!
I like to have access to inside and outside during the day – my foster mum says that I am a good boy and love to be outside (but have access to inside at my choosing) I love to sunbake, play and sniff around my yard then come back in for a snooze and cuddle.

Rufus has been health tested and cleared however when Rufus first came into care he had extensive tear staining which we believe to have been a previous untreated eye infection which left staining. His current carer has been using tear stain removal liquid to slowly clear up the staining. We recommend cleaning his eyes daily to ensure the staining is under control.
