Ruby is a beautiful Maremma with a calm, gentle nature who settled quickly into foster care alongside two resident dogs. She is a very chilled, friendly, and affectionate girl who enjoys meeting new people and quickly wins hearts with her sweet personality.
Ruby loves pats and cuddles, especially from the man of the house, and thrives on being close to her family. Despite her size, she is very polite indoors, doesn’t jump up, waits calmly for her meals, and takes treats gently. She happily sleeps on her own bed, even when offered the couch or a human bed.
She is crate trained, toilet trained, and walks calmly on lead. Ruby is rarely heard barking and is wonderfully relaxed around visiting ducks and birds, happily sharing her space with them.
While Ruby enjoys the company of other dogs and loves spending time with a young Staffy in her foster home, she is such an easy-going girl that she would likely be just as happy as an only dog, provided she has plenty of love and companionship.
Ruby loves being outdoors and keeping an eye on the world around her, making her best suited to a home on acreage with secure perimeter fencing. Although she has lived on acreage, she has never worked as a livestock guardian and much prefers spending her time indoors with her family.
Gentle, affectionate, and easy-going, Ruby is a truly special companion looking for a loving home where she can be part of the family.
