Please meet our gorgeous golden boy Roy!
Roy was abused and severely beaten by his previous owner because he wouldn't work. He carries those scars on his young body and his soul. Despite a rough start, Roy is very loving, kind and ready for a new life!
Roy currently lives with two foster parents and three canine siblings. He absolutely loves other dogs, he is submissive and non-reactive regardless of how mean they are to him. When it comes to size, he is on a smaller side. He also loves toys and to play with other dogs.
Roy is still quite nervous and sudden movements and noises startle him, although he gets better every day. He is particularly unsettled around men and takes a bit longer to warm up to them. But he gets there in the end!
Roy is toilet trained and sleeps soundly in a crate in his parents’ bedroom.
In the short time that he’s been with his foster family his affectionate, loving personality started to show. He is quite social and wants to be in the middle of whatever is going on in the house no matter how scary it seems to him. He rolls on his back asking for belly rubs when he sees a pair of free human hands.
He seeks company and has proven very adaptable to the routine of his foster home. True to his breed, Roy is a smart cookie and a quick, intelligent learner. Training him will be a breeze.
Roy will best suit a family of adults only or a family with older children, a family that will have time for him as he thrives on company. Another friendly dog will be beneficial too.
Roy is a sweet, kind-natured and sensitive boy whose inquisitive, loving nature is stronger than the constraints of fear inflicted on him by bad past experiences. He needs a loving, patient and devoted family that will encourage and support him in being his true amazing self with confidence. Please don’t expect Roy to go straight up to you, he needs time and patience.
This beautiful boy is keen to go out there and live life to the fullest! He just needs a little help.
