RJ is a sweet but very timid and shy girl.
She is a very quiet girl and would much prefer to spend time independently. She is not needy and happy to chill out in the yard most of the day.
When inside, she loves to lay on the couch in her own space.
We aren’t sure what has happened to RJ in her short life. She is frightened of children and particularly men.
RJ isn’t the sort of dog that requires much exercise. She would not suit someone wanting a dog constant companion, she needs patience and understanding. She needs a quiet home.
The best way to win RJ’s trust is to sit next to her and offer her treats in your hand (she is particularly fond of roast or BBQ Chicken).
She would even be ideal for a retired single or couple (preferably a female) as the main carer.
RJ is friendly with other dogs, most of the time she ignores them but would be suitable with any size dog friend as long as they are able to leave her alone and let her come out in her own time - she would not do well with an overly playful in your face dog. She would be ideal as a second dog to keep your dog company - she does not suffer separation anxiety.
Expecting RJ to come to you at the meet is most likely not going to happen, she says away and is avoidant. She has NEVER been aggressive in any way even with handling.
If considering adopting RJ, there are a few requirements below
~ PATIENCE is the number one thing! Don’t expect for RJ to love you in 2 weeks - it will take longer (possibly months).
~ Her new owner must have a crate for a safe place inside, you need to leave the door open on it and she will come in and out as she pleases.
~ RJ is not a dog you can take to dog parks, cafes etc, she is a home body.
~ RJ is not suitable in a home with children (she is scared of loud noises and fast movements).
~ Secure fencing top and bottom is a must, scared dogs can frighten easily.
I am 3 years old.
