Rita is a small, gentle tiny little girl who has experienced a difficult past and as a result, she can be quite timid around new people and situations.
She is looking for a calm patient home, preference being female caregivers where she can slowly build trust at her own pace. Rita isn't the kind of dog who will form an instant bond, but with time, kindness, understanding she has the potential to truly blossom. Please don’t expect her to come running up to you for cuddles, instead she will shy away and hide. We always ask adopters to see the bond between a dog and their carer and once Rita trusts this is exactly what she will show to her new owner.
As she begins to feel safe and her confidence grows her beautiful personality starts to shine. She becomes a cheeky little character with her own quirks and charm, showing glimpses of a playful, affectionate side that makes all the patience worthwhile.
Her ideal family will recognise that trust takes time and will be committed to helping her feel safe secure and loved as she learns that the world and people can be kind again.
