Please meet our beautiful boy Panda.
Prior to coming into foster care, Panda spent his entire life isolated on a farm with very little contact with humans or the outside world. With every aspect of a home life new and scary to him, Panda rose to the challenge and has already achieved a great deal of success at learning and adapting in the short time that he has been with us.
Despite being timid and unsure still, Panda gets braver and more confident every day. He is now well adjusted to the home life: knows the house routine and the rules, which he follows, sleeps on a doggy bed of his choice and is fully toilet trained.
Panda is playful with other dogs and will benefit from a doggy companion at his new home. He loves to play with toys and is happy to entertain himself. He is perfectly fine when left at home alone.
Despite his amazing progress so far, Panda is not very social with people yet and won’t come to you for cuddles or pats. This level of connection may take weeks or even months to build. At this stage he is terrified of a collar and a lead and is not ready to go outside. We believe he will be able to do this with time and desensitisation.
Panda is a clever and inquisitive boy, he loves exploring on his own inside and outside the house. He doesn’t bark and gets along great with other dogs, cats, birds and cattle.
Panda is looking for a patient and understanding family who will help him to overcome the remaining obstacles on his way to becoming the most amazing dog, happy and loving, we know he can and wants to be. He will need a quiet home with no small children and a secure fence to keep him safe.
