I'm ready for my new family!

Oakley is an incredibly sweet and affectionate girl who absolutely adores cuddles. She loves curling up in your lap for hugs and kisses. She is happiest when she's near her people. A true little shadow, Oakley follows her humans around but is also content entertaining herself. She’s calm and settled when left alone, with no destruction or escape attempts.

Smart and eager to please, Oakley learns routines quickly. She already knows commands like sit and leave it, and is working on lay down, stay, wait, and recall with her foster parents. She especially loves playing with a soccer ball, alternating between carrying it and moving it with her nose (which is very cute). Though not super food-motivated, she thrives with activities that engage her brain. She has lots of quirky little habits that make her a joy to be around.

As a working breed, Oakley needs space to run and play, and she’ll do best in a home with a yard. She's full of energy but has a great “off switch” and settles well during downtime. She also sleeps soundly through the night and typically wakes up when her humans do. Like many dogs, she’s not a huge fan of baths but tolerates them well, and she’s easy to groom—including brushing and nail trims.

Oakley adores people and settled into her foster home right away. While she previously got along with other dogs, she can be selective and as a result will need to be the only pet in her new home. With patience, continued positive experiences, and the right guidance, she may be able to build confidence and comfort around other dogs again in the future. She seems to like smaller dogs than dogs around her size or larger.
