While he can be a little shy and timid when meeting new people or entering new environments, he's learning every day that a home is a place where he is safe, loved, and cherished. Since coming into foster care, his confidence has grown in leaps and bounds, and it's been wonderful watching his sweet personality shine through. Nico has grown up in a not so nice environment with a great array of other animals so he is very sociable.
Once comfortable, Nico is affectionate, playful, and eager to be part of family life. He loves being around his people and enjoys spending time with his doggy friends just as much.
Nico would thrive in a home with a confident canine sibling. Having another dog around helps him feel secure and brings out the best in him, so he'd love a furry best friend to play and relax with.
Like many rescue dogs, Nico has not always had access to food so he will need to be fed separately from other dogs at the moment. With sensible management and routine, this is easily accommodated and helps everyone feel comfortable and safe at mealtimes.
