Mali is a sweet, gentle soul who’s looking for a calm and understanding home to help her continue growing in confidence. She hasn’t had much exposure to the world, so new people and environments can feel overwhelming for her particularly men who were once cruel to her — but in the right space, with the right person, she absolutely blossoms.
Once Mali trusts you, she is incredibly affectionate and devoted. She forms especially strong bonds with women and loves nothing more than cuddles, belly rubs, and a game of fetch with her favourite person close by. She’s the kind of dog who will quietly become your shadow and your little companion in everyday life.
She already knows some basic commands (sit, lie down, come) and is very food-motivated, which makes training both rewarding and a great way to build trust (though she’ll need a little help slowing down at mealtimes!).
She is currently fearful and distrustful of men and will need a home willing to provide gentle, ongoing training and positive reinforcement in this area. Mali was picked on by other dogs in her previous home so would suit an only dog who or with a non-reactive and kind medium/large male dog who will give her space to decompress.
