Kayo is a little boy with a big heart and an even bigger personality. He has had a start to life that no dog ever should. Found abandoned in remote bushland with his siblings, Kayo is understandably a very cautious and sensitive soul who is still learning that the world can be a safe and kind place.
Kayo is searching for a very special home—one filled with patience, love and understanding. He will need an owner who is home often. At first he can be unsure but settles in well. Kayo absolutely loves other dogs and will do well in a home with other dogs to guide and play with him. At first, Kayo may not want to be touched or approached, but with a bit of time he will show you just how affectionate he truly is.
Don’t be fooled by his quiet nature in the beginning—once he feels safe, his Kelpie personality begins to shine. He loves to run, play, and chase his furry friends and toys, and you may even hear the occasional joyful bark when he’s excited to play or eat. Kayo is food motivated and learns commands quickly due to this. He knows, sit, stay, lay down, high five, crate (for night time sleep), outside/inside, do wee and quiet/hush.
Kayo (once settled) is the most loyal and loving companion. For the right person or family willing to open their heart to him, Kayo will be a truly special and rewarding addition.
