Fergus is an absolute sweetheart who forms strong bonds with his people. He’s incredibly loving, adores cuddles, and will happily follow his favourite person from room to room just to be close. If you’re looking for a loyal little companion, Fergus is your guy.
He enjoys a good game of fetch with his favourite toy and would thrive in a home where someone is around more often than not to give him the attention and reassurance he loves.
Because of his past, Fergus can feel nervous around strangers and other dogs, and he barks when he’s unsure, as a result he is not the greatest at first impressions. He just needs someone to be understanding, take the chance and to continue his training. He’s currently working on this with training and high-value treats, and he is making progress.
Fergus will do best with someone patient and consistent, who understands that building his confidence will take time and is willing to actively support him through that process.
The good news is that Fergus really wants to please, which makes him very trainable with the right guidance. With calm, gradual introductions, he has shown that he can get along well with small dogs, but he may not be suited to a home with larger or more boisterous dogs.
Fergus is looking for a dedicated and understanding home that will help him feel safe and supported as he continues to grow in confidence. In return, he’ll reward you with endless love, loyalty, and companionship.
