Hi I’m Dustin or Dusty for short and I am the definition of a gentle giant!
I am a low maintenance boy who is happy to lounge around while my foster humans work from home or are busy doing human things. While I love spending time with them, I show minimal signs of separation anxiety and often rest in another room or sun bake in the backyard on my own. When I’m ready to come back inside, I politely ask and wait for you to let me in.
I absolutely love playing fetch with a ball and bouncing around outside. Sometimes I get so excited when it’s time to play, I zoom around the backyard with the ball in my mouth. Once I’ve got all my wiggles out, I always bring the ball back, drop it and patiently wait for you to throw it again.
I am house trained, toilet trained and put myself to bed when I am ready to wind down. I happily sleep on my own in the lounge room and respect boundaries around human beds when reminded. My foster parents live on a busy road & I am learning to be quiet & calm with all the new sights & sounds.
I LOVE food and am a very good listener when a treat is involved. I already know basic commands like sit, fetch & drop, paw, down, go to bed and even go wee! We are working on lay down, quiet and leave it. I am great in the car which is perfect for adventures!
Despite my size, I really am a couch potato at heart. I am a low energy boy and would be happy with one short walk and some playtime. I would be best in a single dog home as I love to keep all the belly and ear scratches to myself.
