Unlike his namesake, Charlie must really be one of the angels. He just loves to walk but, even more so, he loves to cuddle. If you sit down in a convenient chair, he’ll be on your lap in a moment. At a little over 3kg, Charlie is easy to cuddle. However, if you need to work or do anything at the computer he will find a convenient spot nearby just so that he can be near his person. Charlie will be your shadow because you are the most important thing in his life.
Charlie is a gentle soul who is easily startled by loud noises or unexpected movements. He is very shy and will usually hide behind your legs when a new person or dog approaches. He is timid around new people but will approach cautiously after a little time.
Charlie appears to be new to walking on the lead but he is improving very quickly with every excursion out of the house. He now loves his walks and, especially, loves to sniff and do dog things along the path. I love taking him for a walk.
Charlie does have a grade 4 heart murmur. He doesn’t take any medication for this condition. However enjoys a calmer and slower paced life.
Charlie is a joy to have in the house and is a wonderful companion.
HEALTH WAIVER:
Charlie has a Grade 4 heart murmur. A Grade 4 heart murmur in dogs is a loud, moderately intense to intense abnormal heart sound that can be clearly heard with a stethoscope on both sides of the chest.
It is recommended that Charlie have regular veterinary check-ups and be assessed by a veterinary cardiologist. To help support his heart health, Charlie should avoid strenuous exercise, excessive heat and humidity, and foods that are high in sodium or fat. It is also important to maintain a healthy body weight and keep him lean, as being overweight can place additional strain on his heart.
