Hi everyone! My name is Boo and I am a sweet boy looking for my forever home!
Even though I am a big boy (weighing in at 44kg), I am so gentle and calm. My foster family have two kids (aged 3 and 5) and I never knock them over or am rough with them, even when I get a bit excited after they come home. I am a low-energy dog and perfectly content to just hang out with my family.
The thing I love most is cuddles with my humans; there is nothing I want more than to climb up onto the sofa to sit on my foster mum’s lap! But she tells me I am too big to be a lapdog and am not allowed on inside furniture so we compromise with me just resting my head on her lap for as long as she is willing to keep petting me. Once cuddle time is over, I just wander back to my pillow and wait for the next time my humans are ready to shower me with attention.
My second love in life is food, but don’t worry, I am a good boy and know my manners. I do not steal or guard food, and I'm learning that there are certain areas of the house I'm not allowed into e.g. the kitchen. Because I love my food so much, I am easy to teach new behaviours to. After only a couple of days of treats, I now sit on command and know to go into my crate when I am told “bedtime”. Aren’t I clever?!
I would prefer to be your only pet however if there is another dog I prefer another low energy medium/large female dog. I'm a bit protective of my food only with other dogs so I need to be fed completely separate.
I would do better with a family that is around more often than not, I follow my foster mum wherever she goes around the house but when she does leave me alone I don’t bark or dig.
I am a boy with so much love to give and am looking to find someone to take a chance on a loving, sweet, gentle giant like me!
