Bella is a beautiful, energetic young girl who absolutely loves to run, wrestle, and play! Whether it’s a game of chasy with her doggy mates or sprinting joyfully down the back paddock, Bella lights up when she's out in the open. With the biggest smile on her face, she’ll dart back and forth, soaking up every moment. She’s also toilet trained and is starting to enjoy toys – a big step in her journey of learning how to just be a dog.
Bella gets along well with dogs of all sizes and finds great comfort in their company – they’re her safety net and playmates all in one. She’s also good with kids who are gentle and calm, but she’s not a fan of chickens and would do best in a chook-free home.
When Bella first came into care, life was overwhelming. She had very little human interaction in her early life, and every approach or loud sound would send her into a panic. Her whole body would tremble in fear, and she’d try to hide – behind another dog, under furniture, or in a corner. But with time, patience, and the support of her foster family and furry friends, Bella has slowly begun to heal.
These days, she’s starting to realise that not all humans are scary. She will cautiously approach her foster mum, gently sniffing and licking her hands – but only when Bella initiates it. She’s learning to trust, one step at a time.
Inside the home, Bella has made herself a cozy spot on the couch – her safe haven. She’s also learned the routine and will sit at the door and “sook” softly to be let in, showing how far she’s come. She can still be a little barky when unsure of her surroundings, but that’s just her way of saying, “I’m still learning.”
Bella would thrive in a calm, loving home that already has another confident and energetic dog to help her continue building trust and social skills. Most importantly, she needs a family that understands her past, and is patient, kind, and willing to give her the time and space she needs to feel safe and loved.
