I'm ready for my new family!

Andy is a tiny dog with an energetic puppy confidence. Andy’s personality mixes the dachshund playfulness with the sometimes bossy Chihuahua! Still learning about the world, he can be a little hesitant in new situations, although he quickly warms up and is off exploring.

 

Andy has settled well into foster care and loves being doted on. He does take a moment to warm up to new people, although he is always won over with cuddles and attention. Andy has been surrounded by children and is always eager to play with them, but being so little he prefers it when his play friends come down to his level. When he hears his name called he will come running - he won’t pass up the opportunity for attention!

 

Andy loves playing with his toys – the squeakier the better! He loves having them thrown for him to chase. He enjoys some late afternoon zoomies in the yard and is always alert looking for his next adventure. He is quite loyal, and will follow his main human around the home almost wherever they go. Andy would do well with a family that has someone home most days, and although he has been practicing some time in his crate, he may experience some separation anxiety if left alone often. He is fairly well toilet-trained as long as there is access to outside and is taken often, and is starting to learn his general commands.

With a little patience, plenty of love, and lots of playtime, Andy is going to make a wonderful companion.
