Hello my name is Monte! I am a sweet calm quiet boy, who is unsure of the world around me. It takes a little while for me to trust you but once I do I'll be your best bud. I come when called. I enjoy my time outside but also love laying on your bed next to you too.
I haven’t had the best start to life and lived with many other dogs and rarely experienced love. I really love other dogs and need another doggy pal for companionship.
I really do not enjoy being picked up but once I trust you I will allow you to do it if you go slowly and softly. I am not sure on balls and toys and what to do with them.
I am nervous around loud noises, and loud voices or new noises that I don't know. I'm not a barker but can be unsure the first few days. I also get on with cats and love kids. I've been sleeping on my foster human sister and I will soundly snuggled up to her all night long.
I am house trained and have learned to go in and out of the cat flap when I want time outside.
I am an independent little fella who is happy to spend time alone. So no separation anxiety with another dog for company. I travel well in the car.
I will need lots of patience with learning what a lead is and the feeling of someone trying to take me for a walk which I don't think I have ever done. So lots of practice slowly at home would be ideal.
So if your looking for a nice quiet boy with low energy. And have a some patience and will to go slowly on my training then I'm your boy.
I promise to try my best for you if you give me lots of praise and pats and even a treat or two.
