Meet Bernie, the biggest cuddly boy ever! A real life teddy bear!
Bernie is a beautiful young fellow, with a gentle and calm manner, who just LOVES attention and belly rubs! He really just wants to be by your side!
He is active when he wants to be, enjoying a walk/sniff and is very well-behaved for a young dog (after his initial excitement when he sees the lead.) He is learning to " wait" before opening the gate and if he's being a bit strong on his lead...he will be easy to train to walk well...he doesn't react to other dogs barking at him.
We suspect he didn't have much playtime or toys previously, but now enjoys having the ball thrown for him & (mostly) brings it back. He has been taught tug-of-war by his foster sister, though he's not particularly rough and mostly ends up being pulled around the grass by his sister!!
Bernie is a clever fellow and in only two weeks has learnt the routines of the house and knows to "sit" before his meal. With ongoing training he will learn not to jump up when he is excited to see you. Bernie loves treats!!
He sleeps through the night as long as he has company (either dog or human) & would really need another dog for company or owners who are around a fair bit...he is fine when his foster family go to work as he has his foster sister, and they sleep the day away.
Bernie becomes a little anxious if he thinks you're leaving, & he does tend to follow his people from room to room to "check on them", but will wait and settle once they are in sight.
Bernie is fine with the resident cat, and is more interested in her biscuits! He thinks birds are interesting.
