Athena is a sweet natured and laidback pup that loves to snuggle with her family. When she isn’t sitting in your lap, she is off looking for some water to play with - A clam shell to splash in has been a great investment for this girl.
She loves tug of war and has also been known to throw her ball to herself however hasn’t quite mastered fetch. She much prefers to chase the other dogs around the yard and allow them to do the fetching; the work smarter not harder approach is strong in this one.
Obedience training is going well as Athena is quite food driven. She knows the commands sit, shake and has been working on wait, stay and come.
She has only recently began her lead training and although needing some encouragement, she is growing in confidence and has been walking without pulling. She has also shown great recall when off leash and tends to stick close to her human/provider of snacks.
Although she hasn’t directly met children, she is very curious about them and is expected to make a great family dog. It’s important to note that Athena is in her mouthing stage and is still learning to take food gently, however with continued training she will make a very gentle and sweet companion.
Athena looks to the older dogs for guidance and would therefore prefer a household with another dog pal to show her the ropes. If you can commit to continuing this beautiful girl’s training and guide her in reaching her full potential, you’ll be rewarded with an incredibly loyal and loving addition to your family.
