Hi, my name is Darna and I have been patiently waiting for my forever home!
The start to my life wasn’t the best but you wouldn’t know it, as I don’t show it! I’m known to be very affectionate, loyal and obedient.
I do have the typical kelpie qualities in myself too. I have lots of energy and get excited easily!
I love treats and chew toys. I love playing with my doggy friends too!
Before being rescued I had never walked on a leash, at the start it was very scary but I am starting to enjoy walks now.
I had a foster puppy friend for a few weeks and I was very nurturing towards her and always kept an eye on her to make sure she was ok!
I can be timid due to my past at times, but I’m doing so much better than when I was first rescued.
Due to being in a cage for most of my life before I was rescued, I have had a sore hip but I am recovering and doing better each day after surgery! I do see crates now as a safe space. I will need someone who is patient while I recover and adjust to a new life.
I would be fine as an only dog or having another dog friend, I’m very easy going!

HEALTH WAIVER:
Darna had moderate/severe hip dysplasia and the femoral head was mis-shaped in her right hip. She had a femoral head osteotomy to reshape the ball joint. She is now nearly completely healed however we recommend starting her on joint supplements.
I am 1 year old.
