Meet Rusty!
He is energetic, adorable, curious, and when confident in his surroundings he loves to a part of what is going on - whether it is going for walks, gardening, yard work, socialising with others, playing with kids, he just loves to be involved.
He's a happy go lucky pup! So far, Rusty knows how to "sit," "stay and come", he is working on "give me paw". When playing with a ball, Rusty can wait patiently for the correct timing, we count "1,2,3" where he eagerly watches and waits, he will go for his ball, bring back, "drop" and repeat - this is a reflection of his positive behaviour and willingness to be apart of the play and family interactions. Rusty also enjoys this interaction with his foster kids, taking direction from them as well as his foster adults.
Rusty sleeps all through the night indoors, in his bed or on the floor. He loves to be with his foster family and furry foster dog. Rusty knows to go outside for his business and with patience he will have his toilet training conquered in no time!
Rusty enjoys experiences both on and off lead; he loves the independence of off lead which gives him the opportunity to explore with his foster family. He goes on regular walks and is enthusiastic about the newness of this, he is fantastic on lead, takes instruction well, however is still a little nervous of traffic and other larger dogs and the noises they make. In time and with regular exposure Rusty will gain more confidence and thrive with regular exercise.
Rusty is currently in a foster home with 3 children aged 4, 6 and 8, with 2 adults, one male and one female, as well as a senior smaller dog. Rusty is thriving in his current environment, he enjoys both his indoor and outdoor areas, he loves a play and explore with both his humans and his furry companion.
Rusty's perfect forever home will have a wonderful patient and present family and a home with space to explore; a family or someone that will have him as a member of the family, possibly where he can have either another furry companion or people to play and connect with. With the right family, Rusty will be the most devoted companion, loyal and loving... according to Rusty's foster Mum, whoever his future family is will be extremely lucky!
