Hi, I’m Zeke, Despite my age, I am a spritely and distinguished chap and I am looking for a place to call home.
I enjoy sports, whether it be fetching a ball, playing tug of war or chasing my tail. I approach everything in life with maximum enthusiasm. I enjoy food, but when I am really excited it isn’t a priority for me. I am a fairly well-mannered boy, who knows sit, down and other basic obedience, such as touch. I thoroughly enjoy the challenge of working for my food and will wait patiently for tasty treats or a nice chew toy filled with frozen carrot and yoghurt. I have experienced a fair bit of change lately and am taking time to adjust and relax into new surroundings. In typical Staffy fashion I am not aware of personal space and love having a kiss and cuddle.
What I am looking for in a home
- People that are patient, gentle and very kind, this will be an anchor to calm me as when I get overwhelmed.
- An active household who will go for walks and play with me (after my heartworm treatment has finished)
- People who are around most of the time
- Puzzles, games and other forms of mental stimulation
What I have to offer:
- A second shadow
- Lots of cuddles
- Good motivator to stay active
- Lifelong entertainment, cuteness and love
Here is a testimonial from my foster parents:
“Zeke is a sweet and energetic boy. He loves being around people, even if what we are doing doesn’t require a Staffy. He loves to play, have a cuddle/ pat, and to be involved. He may look like a beautiful fruit bat, but he is not nocturnal, he sleeps well through the night. He would benefit from a calming and kind presence to help him manage his nervous energy and to feel safe around. He enjoys a variety of foods including carrot, berries, kibble, freeze dried sardines or chicken and much more. He is the same with toys, enjoying playing fetch with a ball or eating a treat from a Kong.
HEALTH WAIVER:
Zeke is currently being treated for heartworm. This treatment is included in the adoption fee and will need to be done at an approved Lucky Paws Vet in SE QLD. We will also pay for another heartworm test in 9 months. If the dog is still heartworm positive, Lucky Paws will pay for another round of heartworm treatment at our approved Lucky Paws vet.
Zeke is currently taking Trazocalm medication to help manage his energy restriction and anxiety while being treated for heartworm.
