Walter is an Irish Wolfhound cross with a playful, affectionate, and confident personality. He’s a happy, goofy boy who brings energy and joy into every room he enters.
Walter is highly social and loves to engage in play, often instigating games with both people and other dogs. One of his favourite pastimes is proudly parading around with his squeaky toys like prized trophies.
As a young pup, Walter is still learning appropriate boundaries and tends to explore the world with his mouth, so he will need gentle, consistent guidance to reinforce good manners.
He is wonderful with children aged 3–10, though due to his exuberance would best be suited to older dog savvy kids. He has also shown respectful curiosity around poultry without chasing.
Walter is comfortable using a doggy door, is crate trained, and sleeps overnight in the laundry. He is very food motivated, which makes him highly responsive to positive training.
Toileting is progressing well overnight. During the day, he is still learning and may use indoor puppy pads if inside, so continued toilet training will be important.
Walter prefers company and enjoys being close to his people, often seeking out lap snuggles after playtime. He would benefit from a home where he has companionship and may thrive with another playful dog.
Walter is looking for a family who will embrace his joyful, cheeky nature and commit to guiding him through his puppy development.
