Randall has shown a sensitivity to certain sedation medications used during desexing surgery, which caused a delayed recovery coming out of anaesthetic. As a result, future sedation or anaesthesia carries an increased risk and should be told to his new vet prior to any scheduled surgeries. Our recommend avoiding acepromazine and methadone together, with low‑dose butorphanol preferred if sedation is required. This information must be shared with any veterinarian treating Randall.
