Meet Biggie – A Gentle Giant With a Heart of Gold
Biggie is an XL American Bully with a huge presence and an even bigger capacity for love. Weighing in at over 50kg, he may look imposing, but he is truly a soft-hearted, gentle soul who just wants affection, comfort, and a family to call his own.
Biggie hasn’t had the easiest start in life, and so many things are new to him, but he is eager to learn, eager to please, and blossoming more every day.
Personality & Temperament
- Exceptionally gentle and sweet-natured
- Hardly barks – in fact, he’s only been heard twice!
- Loves being right next to you and will happily relax at your side all day
- Thinks he’s a lap dog and often forgets his own size
- Great with kids of all ages – loving, patient and very gentle (though his big bum may knock little ones over, usually to their absolute delight!)
- Loves affection and has recently discovered the joy of kisses and cuddles
Training & Behaviour
- Fully house trained
- No food aggression whatsoever – incredibly gentle with food
- Eats well and isn’t fussy; he’ll pick at dry food throughout the day
- Has great recall and is learning new commands quickly with treat motivation
- Still learning the world: toys are a brand-new experience and he’s discovering favourites
- Walks well after the first couple of minutes – pulls slightly at first then settles beautifully
- Not showing any signs of dog aggression and is generally uninterested in other dogs nearby
Daily Life With Biggie
- Happy to be left alone for 5–6 hours, though he prefers being around people
- Loves spending time both inside and outside, but definitely wants to sleep indoors
- Enjoys watching TV, especially tennis, which seems to fascinate him
- A bit uncoordinated and clumsy in an adorable, endearing way
The Perfect Home for Biggie
Biggie would thrive in a loving, patient home that understands he’s still learning about the world. He’s an affectionate, loyal, people‑oriented dog who simply wants to be loved and included. A home without slippery floors or many stairs would suit him well, and a family who finds joy in gentle training and big cuddles would adore him.
Despite his rough start, Biggie is healing, learning, and showing more personality each day. He is a truly beautiful dog with so much love to give, and with the right family, he will shine.
HEALTH WAIVER:
Due to Biggie’s large breed, his front legs knuckle when he walks, his top toes can drag on the ground so he needs soft bedding and surfaces. He is hesitant on timber/tiles/polished flooring so much prefers carpeted floors. Biggie has been mostly outside all his life so being inside is new and lovely for him!
Biggie is prone to re-occurring ear infections so needs his ears regularly cleaned (weekly) to prevent wax build up.
He also has two enlarged nipples which are causing him no issues.
Biggie is currently being treated for heartworm. This treatment is included in the adoption fee and will need to be done at an approved Lucky Paws Vet in SE QLD. We will also pay for another heartworm test in 9 months. If the dog is still positive Lucky Paws will pay for another round of heartworm treatment at our approved Lucky Paws vet.
